I’m passionate about helping my clients design the life they are called to. Often, the journey begins with some sort of life transition; becoming an empty-nester, a job change, the loss of a loved one. These experiences can be overwhelming to navigate alone.

I want to help you gain clarity and momentum from your experiences so you can create the life you are uniquely called to live.

When you work with me, you’ll be benefiting from my ability to see through your words to get to the heart of the matter. Once we define your goals, I will provide you with resources and steps that allow you to identify the obstacles that have been standing in the way of your moving forward. Having cleared away the clutter, you’ll now have a focused vision of your destination. You will be empowered to make the changes necessary to realize your goals and embrace the life God is calling you to live.

Here is the space where I am supposed to list all of the credentials that make me fit to coach others. The problem is, though I have some college under my belt, I didn’t graduate with a degree and I’ve spent the better part of 30 years in the legal field.

My experience comes from a different education altogether – an education life has provided.

I have learned first-hand how to navigate life’s transitions; I’ve experienced the loss of loved ones (including both parents before I turned 30), moving across country (three times), a faith crisis followed by a major faith transition, losing over 100 pounds, and surviving breast cancer.

It’s not simply having experienced these things that qualifies me to coach. It’s how I used the lessons I learned to heal. I’ve drawn closer to God so I could better understand the call He has for my life, and I’ve experienced exhilaration by stepping into that call.

I want that for you, too.

As a Christian life coach, I will partner with you as you create awareness, move to action, effect change, and step into an abundant life.

Five Fun Facts About Me

Interesting quirk

I have a strangely photographic memory around numbers and dates. I used to speak in dates ("Remember when we got ice cream on September 9, 1996?") until my friend told me it was weird that I did that.

Favorite trait

I have one of those laughs that makes it easy to pick me out in a crowd.

How I met my husband

I met my husband at work. He was our "Windows expert" in 1993 and I kept blowing up my computer. When I deleted the executable file for the company's email system, he took me to lunch to explain why that was a bad thing and we've been together ever since. We will celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2021.

Favorite animal

While I love most animals, I am particularly fond of dogs. Especially Pugs. Archie, our seven-year-old boy, rules the roost.

Favorite Bible verse

Ephesians 2:10: For we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. (NLT)

"I was so nervous to talk to a Coach but Shay put me right at ease and we got right to the issues - some I didn't even know were in my way."

— Tina K.
